London artist Alewya has charmed us with her gritty dance sound, from her collaborative track with Little Simz 'Where's My Lighter', to the rock-injected 'The Code' with Moses Boyd. She's on a roll and has just dropped her fourth single this year, 'Play', arriving alongside a dance-centred video. 'Play' combines a club beat with left-field production, where rhythm and bass are at the core of the track, creating a cathartic energy. Alewya's enticing voice sings, 'Don't mind if I play, just something I want to feel with you'. Speaking on the track, Alewya shares “’Play’ is a song about my love and gratitude for pleasure and play and how it has and can unlock deeper feelings of connections.
